Azerbaijan Travel Visa Entry Requirements

Are you considering traveling to Azerbaijan this summer? If so, it’s important to be aware of the visa travel requirements. In this blog post, we’ll go over the basics of what you need to know in order to get a visa for Azerbaijan. So, whether you’re planning your trip or just curious about what’s required, keep reading!

IMPORTANT NOTE: Besides the requirements listed below, it is critical that your passport has a validity greater than 6 months from your intended date of departure from Azerbaijan.

If you’re a citizen of one of the countries on Azerbaijan’s visa-free list, you’re in luck! You can travel to this beautiful country without having to apply for a visa in advance. Just make sure you have a valid passport and you’re good to go.  Citizens of the below listed countries can just hop on a plane and fly over:

  1. Republic of Belarus (up to 90 days)
  2. Georgia (up to 90 days)
  3. Republic of Kazakhstan (up to 90 days)
  4. Kyrgyz Republic (up to 90 days)
  5. Republic of Moldova (up to 90 days)
  6. Republic of Uzbekistan (up to 90 days)
  7. Russian Federation (up to 90 days)
  8. Republic of Tajikistan (up to 90 days)
  9. Ukraine (up to 90 days)
  10. Türkiye (up to 90 days)
  11. Qatar (up to 30 days)

If you’re not a citizen of the visa-free countries, chances your country might be in the list of countries eligible for an e-Visa.  At this point we would like to highlight that the best way to get the e-Visa is through the official portal.  There are a lot of scam websites which upcharge you for no reason.  The official portal is very easy to use and you can be sure that you are not being overcharged.  The list of eligible countries is as below:

Citizens of the below listed countries have the additional benefit of being able to apply for a visa on arrival at the airport.  The application is done through special electronic terminals but we recommend to avoid this procedure.  Your best bet will always be to apply in advance using the official portal.  The terminals might be difficult to use, they might be crowded, you might not have the correct cash amount, etc.  It’s an unnecessary hassle that can easily be avoided by just getting the visa online, in advance.

Unfortunately, travelers who do not fall in the above categories must apply for visas in advance from the Azerbaijani consulates & embassies from around the world.  The requirements will vary from country to country.  It is impossible for us to dictate exactly what the procedures will be so we recommend you either reach out to the embassy/consulate in your city/country or contact us to clarify it on your behalf.
